When you live with an eco-minimalist approach and love natural and plant-based cosmetics, you discover special recipes that, once tested and personalized, can become delightful wellness rituals.
This is the case of a 100% natural hair pack, formulated directly from these funny-shaped seeds.
They are the seeds of the plant Trigonella foenum graecum L. (or fenugreek ) of the Fabaceae family. Also known as methi , in ancient times it was a plant used as livestock feed and for preparing infusions.
The irregularly shaped seeds with a very characteristic smell, reminiscent of liquorice, are commonly used in Indian cuisine, but are also known to be ideal ingredients in the preparation of cosmetic packs with emollient, hydrating, nourishing, conditioning and polishing properties .
Excellent for hair , but also for skin .
Here's a DIY recipe with surprising results:
🌱80 g seeds
🌱120 ml water
🌱120 ml yogurt
🌱1 lemon
After soaking the seeds overnight (if they absorb all the water, add more to keep them moist), blend them in a blender with the water. Soaking overnight softens the seeds enough to blend them easily. Add the yogurt and lemon juice.
It's difficult to achieve a creamy, smooth mixture. The most realistic result is a slightly grainy, coarse cream. In effect, a whole-wheat cream .

With these doses, you'll get at least three generous packs that can be applied, along with a small amount of Coccoon coconut oil , to wet hair, massaging the scalp, roots, and ends. Then, cover your head with a turban and leave it on for anywhere from half an hour to several hours (depending on how much time you have!).
Between one application and the next, store the product in the refrigerator.
It's amazing how much the mucilage in this pack is palpable from the first massages. It even makes your hands soft and silky during (and after) application.
The result?
After removing the pack from the hair with warm water, washing it with Coccoon solid soap and then detangling it, if necessary, with Coccoon solid conditioner (leaving it on for the time needed to comb it), the sensation is very pleasant: hair soft to the touch, visibly brighter and revitalised .
The licorice note typical of these funny seeds lingers on the hair for several days and, for many people, gives an intoxicating and delicious touch to this DIY pack.
For those who love simple, genuine and natural treatments, the methi seed hair pack is an excellent idea.
Treat yourself when you need to take care of your hair or beard, for any reason: tiredness, salt and sun at the beach, chlorine in the pool, or even just a desire for pampering and well-being. Give it a try!
