CONSUMERISM VS. MINIMALISM: WHY CHOOSE A MINIMALIST LIFESTYLE?

by Sara Di Benedetto |

How many things do we surround ourselves with?

How many of these are essential?

How many could we simply do without?

These are universal , timeless questions. They apply at home and when traveling. Alone and with others. They make sense as children , as adults, and in old age.

The difficulty lies in answering honestly and challenging yourself.

If we all asked ourselves these questions every day, and learned to minimize our consumption by recognizing that with less we live better and become richer , the world would be a better, less polluted and happier place .

And who doesn't want a better world?

Less is more . A message that truly makes sense and has a profound meaning. But how is this possible in practice?

According to the German architect and designer Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe , to achieve the most and enhance it, one must build the essential , removing the superfluous and redundancies.
A A revolutionary concept that, at a time when architectural works, to be great, had to be opulent and complex, elevated, instead, the simplicity of style . Mies died in 1969, but the philosophy of minimalism continued to spread in the world of fashion and technology, and has become a true lifestyle .
We enthusiastically embrace and promote a minimalist approach in the world of eco-friendly cosmetics and in all aspects of our daily lives.
We believe in it deeply, which is why we tell you how minimalism is not a renunciation, a flat and sad life because it means depriving yourself of things , but on the contrary, as in the works of Mies, it is the essential from which you are reborn .
And this rebirth begins with eliminating the superfluous , the useless things we often surround ourselves with to impress others. By remaining "naked," we discover our innermost selves and truly know ourselves.

There are 4 attitudes to embrace to fight consumerism and build a more sustainable and healthy lifestyle :

  1. Choose simplicity - yours - and time ;
  2. You don't need many things in life ;
  3. Choose positive change , change habits and inspire others!
  4. Reduce consumption and buy the bare minimum . Don't waste. Recycle, adapt, and reuse.

Easy to say, but easy to do?
